I think the most craziest and awesome thing about deadspace is its cohesive nature and ability to connect the dots, especially with their fantastic ability to cameo so many key players in different spin offs of the story. I do love the ending of > Alyssa almost succeeding in venting all the Necromorphs out into space, only to get sucked out herself Twinkle Twinkle Little Star playing in the background :) But on the whole it's not bad, I've seen a lot worse. It would've benefitted from 15-20 mins extra at the start of the film, before the bad stuff happens, showing us these characters in their "normal" state and the normal state of the Ishimura before everything starts going crazy, instead of just starting with the crazy. The thing about Downfall is that it follows the formula of a horror about a set group of characters trying to survive a catastrophe (Alyssa and her team), but it doesn't take the time to let us get to know any of those characters, it just goes straight in to all the carnage, and as such we're left wondering why we should care about half the people dying. Downfall is the better of the two, Aftermath is a bit.meh.

I like Downfall and Aftermath, but they do have their faults. I actually think if they ever do get this Dead Space movie off the ground, they should start with Martyr before anything else.

I think Martyr is actually too good to waste on an anime, but that's just my opinion. I also think Martyr should be made into a film, but I'd like to see it live-action. They could make Sorano, or the soldier at the start, the protagonist, and end the film with him going off into the mountains to find the codex, leading into the start of the game. A lot of the characters actually sound more interesting than the "present day" characters in the game. It seems like a lot of interesting things happened there, and it would be interesting to see them. I think they should've done an animated film depicting the events of the Tau Volantis colony 200 years prior to Dead Space 3.
